XiNCOM Twin WAN Router

2 words…freaking AWESOME! Last week I my cable modem went out, and let’s just say it was a bad situation. So I order a XiNCOM Twin WAN from NewEgg, it arrived and I hooked it up. The biggest feature is it has 2 WAN ports for 2 seperate broadband connections, and it internally runs something (I suspect HSRP)…anyway, if one provider fails, then the other takes over. So, there is no downtime on your lan. Pretty slick.

NewsGator Go!

I couldn’t sleep, so (yet again) I’m up at 4am. *sigh*

Anyway, Newgator has released “Go!” for Java Based devices (like BlackBerry). So, I’m going to give it a try.

Update:
The OTA install worked really well. However, it doesn’t work. It says there is a network problem, and it switches to flight mode. I don’t know why it says that, I know everything is working because I have Google’s mail app running just fine on there. Things are not looking well for Go!, plus on a side note, I think the icon for it sucks…very hard to see on my screen.

Update 2:
Screw it. I’ve been trying to get it to work, and it’s not. I don’t really want to spend time trying to figure out why it won’t work. It’s funny, in the past I would have tried to diagnose it for hours, and get it to work. Now, I just don’t have the time/patience for that kind of stuff. If the product doesn’t work on of the box (after some VERY brief troubleshooting…that’s it…gone)

Logitech S 530 Review

Well, it was about time for a new keyboard and mouse. I have had my mouse for almost 5 years, and my keyboard for about 3 (and it was really nasty on the inside (not buying a “clear” keyboard anymore). So, I went looking around for a new set, I had the following requirements…

1. Had to be a “mac” keyboard (i.e. with the “apple” button).

2. Needed to be wireless.

3. Mouse needed 2 buttons (because the Apple mouse with the “virtual” right button didn’t work in WoW

4. Needed to be reasonably priced.

5. Needed to “feel good”

6. *OPTIONAL* it needs to have “function buttons”.

Noggin: A Mom’s Review

As I sit with my poor little sick kiddo, I want to thank whoever came keep with the Noggin television channel. Normally my son, Michael, is all over the place and doesn’t sit and watch TV very long, but on those days when he’s under the weather, Noggin is a life saver. If you don’t know, Noggin is a preschooler’s TV channel with no commercials and educational and fun segments between the shows. Before each show begins, they let the parents know how the child benefits from the show. They have shows like Dora, Backyardigans, and my son’s current favorite, the Upside Down Show.

GotVoice Review

A few weeks ago, I saw a post on Alex King’s blog for the GotVoice service. I thought it looked, well…awesome. It was perfect for what I needed, my cell phone gets phone service, but I have to stand in a certain area…and that area is not in my office. Additionally, its really a pain to check my cell phone voicemail. Anyway, I thought that GotVoice would be perfect. However, I was a bit wrong…
